How does this work...

I can help others with their homework but can't do my own.

I can do extra assignments but not the original ones.

What's my freakin' problem?!

The 2 things that I do

I like Science. I like Music. This was a god weekend for both.

Friday I went to one music class but most of the day I was preparing for and helping out at the Physics Open House. Which was super fun! As usual! I got to make about 9 batches of different kinds of play-dough, then they fed us pizza, then I got a free t-shirt (with a frictionless student on it--not to be confused with a spherical student lol), and got to spend many hours playing with helium balloons making mini-HARBOR models :-). We also had a flying shark, which we used to rescue some escaped helium balloons, then the inevitable happened: we re-enacted an XKCD comic:

It was so good. The only downside to this was that I was occupied until 9:30pm and so we couldn't go to the homecoming dance :-(

More especially since I had to get up before 5:30 the next day. Saturday was the UMTA conference which started out with a chapter presidents meeting at 7am. Booooo. Oh well. I had plenty of time to write my speech and find everyone else before we presented our chapter thing at 10:50. It was awesome just like the last time, we played Bach and the dance professor showed the dances after the history professor gave the history and then we had the art and we all had fun. Then lunch. Then Zoe competed in the Young Artists competition. Then Fan-Ya played in a masterclass. She played a movement from Gargoyles, and this was after another guy played part of the Liszt sonata, so the masterclass teacher was just going off about hell and demons and witches the whole time and it was scary but enlightening and awesome actually, hehehehe. Then Nic competed in the competition as well. I only got to hear him through the door. Then there was a recital and Jared and CJ played. Then CJ and Eliza freaked out together on chopsticks on one of the demo pianos. Then Byron competed. He made everyone cry he was so good. He ended up getting an Honorable Mention. I can't imagine how the other winners must have been because I thought Byron did so freakin' well. Whatever.

Saturday night we slept REALLY well. Two long days of all physics and all music will put you out apparently. Wait, that's all I do every day . . . no wonder my list of things to do never gets any shorter. And here I am writing a blog. That's okay!

Forgive me

So, I know I haven't been writing much. And guess what, that probably won't change anytime soon. That's what happens when you are taking 2 years of history classes at the same time, 2 years of internship at the same time, and have 2 courses of study, and 2 jobs! I can hear the words of a friend: "don't be a hero..." but you all know I can't help it. This is my last year anyway.

Oh Boy!

Well, I guess I haven't posted for a bit. With good reason! Life has been so dang intense I have hardly had a minute to do frivolous things like update a blog.

Customs wasn't too much of a hassle, except that he was almost the last one they let out and I had to wait for an hour and a half. Grrr.

We did lots of fun stuff his first week, like visit temple square, go swimming, meet our mission president, go to work and school, and stuff.

Wedding Day 9-10-11 Best Day Ever!

We took the weekend to honeymoon in Salt Lake. People seem to have a problem with this. I tell them we went to Salt Lake and they ask when we're going to have a REAL honeymoon. WTH I just told you we had a short one in Salt Lake! Someone please enlighten me as to why that is so unacceptable?

Back to School on Monday, and work, and everything else fun since then. I just take Sylves with me everywhere and it's so much better than just being single. Sometimes I leave him at home and he'll cook or clean. Can't really (legally) do much else until we get the work permit and/or green card. That will be in process very soon.

Almost here

Remember how I said the anger would shortly pass? Well, it's gone. Told ya. Sylves is currently on layover in Tokyo and I am just getting more and more excited every minute! Maybe I should sleep . . . but I don't know if that will be possible!

yesterday p.m. he picked up his visa
early early today a.m. plane ticket was acquired
today p.m. the reception deal-io was decided on
Then we had my bridal shower

P.S. that was the most awful 3 weeks of my life. Thanks, government. I'm okay now, I think, but I'm not going to completely drop the issue because I hope for less people to have to suffer like that in the future. I really hope we can work something out. Really.

Back in Utah (rant)

Well, I just got back home officially. I'm not too happy about it. The major purpose of my trip was not accomplished, and I sit here, alone, still wondering how long I must still be alone in life. People say to be patient. I have been patient! Remember, I was supposed to get married in April! I don't know what happened this time, I was guided by some force greater than myself to buy my ticket when I did, we passed the interview without any ado, and the visa just never came. I was good and didn't buy him a ticket until the visa came, which it didn't, so I didn't, and I was somehow guided (after much crying) to fly back to North America by myself on Monday, which worked because I have obligations this weekend and school starts Monday and it still wouldn't have come so I would've still been by myself even if I flew Thursday. I just don't freakin' understand! I had most definitely been put under the impression that visas come within a week after the interview. When I called the embassy to see if that was a lie, the lady pretty much said yes. Other people later let me know it could be one to two weeks, or two to three weeks, or one person came up with the figure of 60 days. I would like to know where these numbers come from. I looked back on the State Department's many websites and could not find an answer. What do they freakin' have to do? Print the visa, tape/glue it in his passport, maybe send a letter to the State Department informing them a visa has been issued, and mail the passport back. Shouldn't take too long! Maybe the printer ran out of ink . . . or they couldn't find any glue. I don't think there's any excuse. Now everything is rough because I can't be sure of my own wedding date, so I can't book anything for the reception, and I can't invite anyone, and all my plans are just gone to crap because my own country won't let me get married. What a world. Dear U.S. government employee who may be reading this to spy on me which I haven't discounted as a possibility: I never did anything wrong. Stop looking for ways to punish me. I have many more things I'd like to say but for now I will refrain. At least the customs officer told me to "have a good one" when I came back this time although I still wasn't welcomed back. Oh, and dear people who read this blog, I am just ranting. If you do not know the answers, please don't speculate or tell me to be patient. The anger will eventually pass.
